About Millie Peartree

Millie Peartree is an accomplished chef and media personality whose personalized takes on classic Soul Food recipes helped make her a household name. Millie is the host of A Chef’s Guide to Soul Food, currently streaming on Magnolia/Discovery+. She has been a featured guest on Food Network’s Chopped, Worst Cooks in America and Supermarket Stakeout. Millie has made guest appearances on OWN’s The Great Soul Food Cook-Off, Hulu’s Best in Dough and Hulu’s Secret Chef. Her recurring appearances on Good Morning America, TODAY, Rachael Ray Show, The Real and other daytime talk shows demonstrate to viewers the various and simple ways home chefs can make easy affordable meals come to life. Millie is a renowned contributor to The New York Times, Delish, Food52 and Bon Appetit.
In 2020, Millie Peartree founded the non-profit Full Heart Full Bellies, a program working to reduce the number of food deserts among underserved communities and bring awareness to food insecurity nationwide. To date, she has fed over 100,000 children and families and has distributed over 700,000 lbs of food and counting to some of New York’s most vulnerable citizens. In 2021 Millie built a greenhouse in Bronx, NY with plans to continue developing and funding food programming through Full Heart Full Bellies and her donation-based restaurant concepts. Millie sits on the Chefs Food Council for City Harvest, holds a BA in Sociology from SUNY Polytechnic Institute and is certified in developing sustainable nutrition wellness plans from Harvard Medical School Executive Education.
